Shakerley Mere
Brief description of fishery:
Shakerley Mere is a shallow 17-acre lake set in a country park. This former sand quarry is popular amongst specimen carp anglers due to the excellent head of large carp it contains. It produces fish to around 30lbs with plenty of good-sized back-up fish. Other species in the mere include large shoals of specimen bream and roach and perch in excess of 4lb.

- Members MUST NOT block any footpaths
- Junior non-members must fish the same peg as the Senior member responsible for them, the Senior member must hold a membership that allows them to fish Shakerley Mere
- No fires
- No pre baiting
- Fishing from the designated areas only as shown below marked with the red line and the two locations on the road bank.
- No ground bait of any nature is allowed: please exercise restraint when introducing free offerings into this water.
- The lakebed contains fluid sands, which are extremely treacherous, and as a result wading is strictly prohibited.
- Day Tickets are ONLY sold through the club’s website, NO money will be taken on the bank.
- Fishing shelters must not obstruct the public footpath.

- Hooks: Barbless hooks are required.
- Ground Bait: No ground bait is allowed.
- Wading: Wading is prohibited.
- Maximum Stay: Members have a maximum stay of 48 hours, and day tickets allow fishing from dawn until dusk.
- Cleanliness: Ensure the facility is left clean and tidy.
- Noise: Audible bite alarms must be set at a respectable volume level, and anglers must respect neighbours.
- Toilets: All anglers are required to carry some form of toilet facilities with them, failure to do will result in you being asked to leave with no refund (no exceptions).
- Catch and Release: Lymm Angling Club operates a catch and release policy, requiring all fish to be returned.
All anglers, especially long stay anglers, must ensure their toiletry requirements are catered for in a way that does not cause any offence or hygiene hazard to any other person/property.
Bailiffs will ask what provisions have been made to comply with this rule, if provisions are not considered adequate enough: members will be asked to leave the water. All foul waste must be bagged and removed by the member; failure to comply WILL result in a lifetime ban.

Heading south on the M6, leave at junction 19 (Knutsford). Turn right towards Chester along the A556. Travel for about 4 miles before turning left onto the B5082, sign posted Holmes Chapel. Continue along the B5082 for about 3 miles to the crossroads with the B5081. Turn left at the Three Greyhounds pub and Shakerley Mere is the first opening on the left.
