Catchpenny Pool

Brief description of fishery:

Catchpenny Pool is a disused sand working, about 19 acres, virtually circular, lying between Chelford and Holmes Chapel. It has been established as a fishery for some years which has received a large number of carp. This former syndicate water has much to offer. The south bank is grassy and free of any obstruction, suitable for older members. The north bank and west side are heavily planted with trees and bushes and rather steep, so access is tricky in parts, there is also a small landing stage at the north end. The pool is flat bottomed, about 30ft deep all over, with a shelf of shallows, narrow in parts which fall off quickly into deep water.

Carp range from mid doubles to over 30lb
